White City Fire: Three Men Die in West London Blaze
Three Men Perish in White City Fire
Three men have tragically lost their lives in a fire that broke out in a building in White City, west London, on Saturday evening. The blaze, which occurred shortly before 7 pm, has left the community reeling.
Swift Response from Emergency Services
Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) were quick to respond, rescuing the men from the single-storey pavilion building on New Zealand Way. The London Ambulance Service treated nine people at the scene, where two of the men were pronounced dead.
The LFB’s assistant commissioner, Pat Goulbourne, confirmed the fatalities, stating, “Sadly, three people have died following a fire on New Zealand Way, White City.”
A Major Trauma Centre Treats the Injured
Three people were rushed to a major trauma centre, but sadly, one of them later succumbed to his injuries. The fire destroyed over half of the building before it was brought under control by 9:25 pm.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the LFB and the Metropolitan Police.
Community Support and Engagement
Fire crews remained at the site on Sunday, damping down pockets of fire. LFB community engagement officers were also present to support local residents, many of whom were understandably shaken by the incident.
The Metropolitan Police are working to inform the families of the victims, and the community is rallying together to provide support during this difficult time.
As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on supporting those affected and ensuring the safety of the community.
