Toxic’s New Release Date: Independence Day Weekend?

The film industry and fans were surprised to learn that the much-awaited movie Toxic has been delayed once more. Originally set for a March 19 release, the film was initially postponed due to the volatile situation in the Middle East. The new release date was June 4, but on April 29, the makers announced another postponement without specifying a new date.

According to a source, the producers of Toxic are now eyeing the Independence Day week for its release, specifically August 13 or 14. They believe this period could be ideal for a global launch, as there are no major Hollywood films scheduled during that time.

The source added, 'The makers are considering other dates, but the Independence Day weekend is their primary focus.'

If Toxic is released on these dates, it will compete with two significant Hindi films. Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, is set for an August 13 release, while Awarapan 2, featuring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, is scheduled for August 14.

Yash, the lead actor of Toxic, has defended the film's vision, stating that a gangster film with a female perspective is a unique and refreshing take on the genre.
