Pakistan’s Alleged Strike on Kabul Hospital Sparks International Concern
Afghanistan's deputy government spokesman, Hamdullah Fitrat, revealed a staggering death toll of 400 people following the alleged strike on a hospital in Kabul. This devastating incident has sparked widespread concern globally, with many calling for a prompt investigation to determine the facts.
The hospital, which treats patients struggling with addiction, was reportedly hit by airstrikes, leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. Eyewitnesses described a horrific scene, with patients falling from their beds and many dying instantly. Firefighters struggled to control the flames, while rescue teams searched through the rubble for survivors.
The situation is further complicated by the cross-border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which have resulted in multiple Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan's capital, Kabul. Islamabad has accused Kabul of harbouring militant groups, including the Pakistani Taliban, which it claims carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
The United Nations Security Council has called on Afghanistan's Taliban rulers to step up efforts to combat terrorism, while also condemning 'in the strongest terms all terrorist activity, including terrorist attacks.' Pakistan's government has repeatedly accused Afghanistan of providing safe haven to militant groups, a charge that Kabul denies.
