Green Party Leader Zack Polanski’s Misleading Claims

Zack Polanski, the Green Party leader, has come under fire for making misleading claims about his affiliations. The British Red Cross has stated that Polanski falsely claimed to be a spokesperson for the charity during his campaign for the Green Party leadership.

This revelation comes after Polanski's personal website featured a statement in 2020 expressing his pride in the work of the British Red Cross. However, the charity has clarified that he has never held such a position.

The Times reported that Polanski's claims were not limited to the British Red Cross. He also allegedly stated that he was a full member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy, which the organization has refuted.

Polanski's past as a hypnotherapist has been a subject of interest, particularly after a 2013 Sun article revealed his involvement in a controversial hypnosis session aimed at increasing a woman's breast size. Although Polanski has apologized for this incident, the BBC uncovered an interview where he discussed the technique's success, suggesting a pattern of behavior.

The Green Party, aiming for significant gains in London, finds itself in a challenging position. The campaign has been marred by controversies, including antisemitic comments from several candidates. Two Green candidates for Lambeth Council were arrested on suspicion of stirring up racial hatred online.

Former Green leader Caroline Lucas has called for immediate action against candidates who have made antisemitic statements, emphasizing the need to address hate speech within the party.

Other political parties have also weighed in, with a Labour spokesperson urging Polanski to be transparent and questioning his credibility. The spokesperson highlighted Polanski's previous misleading statements and the party's handling of antisemitic incidents.

As the Green Party navigates these challenges, the focus shifts to addressing internal issues and rebuilding trust with the public.
