Telugu-Hindi Film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha Takes a Breakthrough Approach to Reach Wider Audience

Mrunal Thakur, Adivi Sesh, Anurag Kashyap, and Zayn Marie Khan recently attended the trailer launch of their film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha in Mumbai. The film is a significant milestone in the Indian film industry, as it has been simultaneously filmed in Telugu and Hindi.

Adivi Sesh explained the reason behind this decision, saying that the team drew inspiration from Akshay Kumar's Pad Man. The film is based on the incredible life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, and it showcased how a Tamil story can be set in Madhya Pradesh. This idea sparked a major thought in Adivi Sesh, and he decided to set a story on the Badlands of Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka border, making the film in an authentic Hindi cinema style.

The film's makers believe that if done correctly, it will reach people in the North and they will appreciate the authentic storytelling. Adivi Sesh shared an interesting experience where the team launched the song 'Touch Buddy' in Gorakhpur, and the audience reacted positively to the film's dubbed dialogue. This experience motivated the team to authentically do justice to their vision in Telugu and in Hindi as well.

Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha releases in cinemas on April 10.
