Ramayana Teaser: OG Sita, Dipika Chikhlia, Praises Upcoming Epic
The highly anticipated Ramayana film has sparked excitement among fans, and now, the original Sita from the beloved 1980s TV series, Dipika Chikhlia, has shared her thoughts on the teaser.
Chikhlia, who portrayed Sita in the iconic Ramayan series, expressed her admiration for the teaser's grandeur and visual richness. She said, "I watched the teaser, and it's very grand. It looks rich and well-made. I'm eagerly awaiting the film, and it's shaping up to be a stunning cinematic experience."
The teaser, titled 'Rama', was released on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2nd, and features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, who shared a heartfelt message about Lord Rama's timeless legacy and its relevance in today's world.
Malhotra wrote, "Rama's greatness lies in his selfless choices, prioritizing duty over desire and sacrifice over self. His story continues to inspire and empower humanity, fostering peace and resolving conflicts."
The film is set to be a two-part cinematic extravaganza, with Part 1 releasing during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027. It boasts an impressive cast, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The ensemble also features Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and a special appearance by Arun Govil, the original Ram from the TV series, who will play King Dashrath.
The film has already generated buzz for its technical prowess, with renowned composers A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer creating the musical score. The teaser has been certified by the CBFC and has been shown at select IMAX screenings worldwide, further fueling the anticipation for this epic adaptation.
