Poonam Dhillon Remembers Pahlaj Nihalani: A Friendship Across Decades

The Hindi film industry is mourning the loss of a prominent figure, Pahlaj Nihalani, who left an indelible mark during his illustrious career. Actress Poonam Dhillon, in a moving tribute, reminisces about their friendship, which stood the test of time, spanning three to four decades.

Dhillon, deeply saddened by Nihalani's passing, shared her thoughts on their enduring bond. She revealed that their friendship was built on frequent, informal meetings, facilitated by their mutual connection with Shatrughan Sinha. Despite not working together professionally, their relationship transcended work, as they shared a close, unreserved camaraderie.

Nihalani, a celebrated producer, rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s, backing numerous box office hits and collaborating with top talents. His career took a turn when he became the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from 2015 to 2017, a role that brought him into the public eye.

The late producer's final days were spent at his residence after being discharged from Nanavati Hospital. His funeral, as per the family's statement, took place on June 4, 2026, at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai.
