Norwegian Brothers Arrested in US Embassy Blast in Oslo

A major breakthrough has been achieved in the investigation of the US embassy blast in Oslo. Three Norwegian brothers of Iraqi origin have been arrested on suspicion of a 'terrorist bombing' at the US embassy in Oslo that caused minor damage but no injuries. The police prosecutor Christian Hatlo told a press conference that the brothers had been arrested in Oslo and that police were investigating the motive.

The investigation is ongoing, with several hypotheses being explored. One of the key leads is whether the bombing was ordered by a government entity. This theory is being considered given the target – the US embassy – and the current security situation in the world. The Norwegian security service PST has highlighted Iran as a major threat to Norway, which could rely on proxy actors, including criminal networks, to commit acts.

The blast took place at around 1:00am local time on Sunday at the entrance to the embassy's consular section. American embassies have been placed on high alert in the Middle East due to US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Several embassies have faced attacks as Tehran responds by targeting industrial and diplomatic facilities.
