Mumbai Police Clear Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi in 2022 Drugs Case
The Mumbai Police have made a crucial breakthrough in a high-profile 2022 drug case, clearing actors Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi of any involvement. This development comes as a relief to the celebrities and their fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
According to a report by the Indian Express, the police have completed their investigation and are preparing to file a supplementary chargesheet. The source quoted in the report stated that there is insufficient evidence to link the celebrities to the alleged drug supply network, effectively clearing them of any wrongdoing.
The case dates back to August 2022 when the Mumbai Police's Crime Branch and Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested alleged drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh. During the operation, Mephedrone worth Rs 1.19 lakh was seized. Shaikh claimed to have supplied drugs at parties attended by celebrities, which led to the investigation.
In 2025, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, along with other public figures, were questioned by the Anti-Narcotics Cell. However, the investigation has not yielded any material evidence connecting them to the drug supply network.
The absence of evidence has led to the celebrities' names being dropped from further proceedings, bringing clarity to a case that attracted significant attention due to the involvement of prominent individuals from the film industry and public life.
Reacting to the news, social media personality Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, expressed his relief on social media. He shared a screenshot of the report and addressed those who had sensationalized the case, stating, 'Where are all the clickbaiting jealous virgins who oversensationalised this and dragged my good name for weeks?'
This development highlights the importance of thorough investigations and the need to avoid speculation, especially in cases involving public figures. It serves as a reminder that justice should be served based on evidence, not rumors or sensationalism.
