Prime Original Series Maa Ka Sum to Premiere on April 3

Prime Video is set to premiere its upcoming Prime Original series Maa Ka Sum on April 3. Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and produced by Babita Ashiwal under the banner of Eunoia Films, the series follows the story of Agastya (Mihir Ahuja), a 19-year-old math prodigy who sets out to solve love in theory through equations.

Agastya declares, “Maths ho ya pyaar… ek hi equation hain,” as he sets “Project Mom” into motion — a mission to find the perfect partner for his single mother, Vinita (Mona Singh). With the help of enigmatic new math professor Ira (played by Angira Dhar), Agastya joins forces to build an algorithm for the perfect match. However, emotions begin to disrupt his perfectly calculated world, and Agastya's formula encounters variables no equation can solve.

The series stars Mona Singh, Mihir Ahuja, Angira Dhar, and Ranveer Brar in lead roles. Maa Ka Sum is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi with subtitles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, across India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide on April 3.

Nicholas Kharkongor, director of the series, shared, “Maa Ka Sum does not really fit into a neat box. It is not a typical relationship drama, nor is it a purely coming-of-age story. It is about relationships—seen through the eyes of a 19-year-old who believes any problem in life can be solved with logic and data. Using mathematics in a slightly unusual manner allowed us to explore these emotions in a fresh way.”
