Indonesia Train Crash: Rescue Efforts Continue as Death Toll Rises

The last major train crash in Indonesia occurred in January 2024, killing four crew members and injuring dozens in West Java province.

Franoto Wibowo, a KAI spokesperson, suggested that a taxi may have clipped the commuter train on a level crossing, causing it to stop on the tracks. Hundreds of bystanders watched as survivors were carried out of the wreckage and loaded into ambulances.
