The IEA, a global energy watchdog, has proposed a set of emergency measures to address the escalating oil prices and potential fuel shortages resulting from the Middle East conflict. These recommendations are designed to help countries, businesses, and individuals adapt to a prolonged disruption in energy markets.

**Reduce Highway Speeds:** The IEA suggests lowering speed limits on highways by at least 10km/h. This simple measure can significantly reduce fuel consumption, providing a quick and effective way to conserve energy.

**Work from Home:** Encouraging employees to work remotely is a key strategy. By working from home, individuals can reduce their daily commute, saving petrol and contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

**Carpooling and Car Access Limits:** The IEA recommends carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. Additionally, implementing a number-plate rotation system in large cities can limit car access, ensuring a more balanced and efficient use of fuel.

**Public Transport and Efficient Driving:** Promoting public transportation is another vital aspect of the plan. By encouraging people to use buses, trains, and other public transport options, oil demand can be reduced. The IEA also emphasizes efficient driving practices for commercial vehicles, including load optimization and regular maintenance.

**LPG Diversion and Electric Cooking:** To preserve LPG for essential needs like cooking, the IEA suggests diverting its use from transportation. This can be further supported by encouraging the adoption of electric cooking and other alternative methods, reducing reliance on LPG.

**Industrial Feedstock Switch:** Helping industrial facilities switch between different petrochemical feedstocks can free up LPG supplies, ensuring a more stable energy supply chain.
