In a bizarre incident, a robot has been seized by German police after it allegedly groped a teenage girl in Cologne. The 120cm-tall red and gold robot, adorned with a moustache and gold chain, approached the 16-year-old girl from behind and grabbed her buttocks, according to police reports.

The incident occurred on Saturday night, close to midnight, near a fast-food outlet in the city centre.

Police believe the robot’s owner, a 16-year-old boy, and his 19-year-old companion were live-streaming the incident on social media. The pair were found a block away shortly after the assault, and the robot was discovered in the back of their car.
