Drishyam 3: CBFC Approves with Minimal Changes

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the release of the much-awaited Drishyam 3 with minimal alterations, ensuring an authentic cinematic experience for fans. This thrilling Malayalam film, along with its Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada dubbed versions, is set to hit the big screen on May 21, 2023.

In a significant development, the CBFC has passed all versions of the film with a U/A 16+ certificate, allowing a wider audience to enjoy this captivating story. The original Malayalam version and its Tamil and Kannada counterparts remain untouched, with no visual or audio cuts. However, the Telugu version has been slightly modified, with the expletive 'f**k' muted in the second half, ensuring a more family-friendly viewing experience.

The CBFC's instructions were promptly addressed by the filmmakers, resulting in the timely certification of the original Malayalam version on May 11 and the dubbed versions on May 15. With a runtime of 159.05 minutes, Drishyam 3 promises to deliver a captivating and immersive cinematic journey.

Starring Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and a talented ensemble cast, Drishyam 3 is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor. The film is the third installment in the highly successful Drishyam franchise, with the first part becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time upon its release in 2013. Drishyam 2, released in 2021, was a direct-to-streaming success due to COVID-related restrictions.

Advance bookings for Drishyam 3 in Kerala have been exceptional, indicating a potential blockbuster opening. Outside Kerala and overseas, the film will be distributed by Panorama Studios, known for producing the Hindi remakes of the same name starring Ajay Devgn. The Hindi version of Drishyam 3 is set to release later this year, on October 2, offering a broader audience the chance to experience this captivating story.
