Delta Flight 41 Encounters Turbulence: Crew Members Hospitalized

Three flight attendants were rushed to the hospital after a Delta Air Lines flight encountered severe turbulence on its descent into Sydney. The incident occurred on Friday morning, as Delta flight 41 from Los Angeles was approaching the airport.

The Airbus A350 aircraft, carrying 245 passengers and 15 crew members, hit a patch of rough air, causing four crew members to sustain injuries. Despite the turbulence, none of the passengers reported any harm.

Paramedics swiftly arrived at Sydney Airport and assessed five individuals, including the injured crew members. Three flight attendants were transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with minor injuries to various parts of their bodies, including their backs.

A Delta spokesperson emphasized the airline's commitment to safety, stating that the well-being of their crew and customers is of utmost importance. They assured that the affected crew members are receiving the necessary care and attention.

The flight's trajectory was altered as it approached the New South Wales coast, turning northwest approximately 50km from the coast to land from the north. Strong onshore winds were reported in Sydney that morning, but they were not linked to Tropical Cyclone Narelle, which was approaching the far north Queensland coast.

This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by aviation professionals and the importance of safety protocols in ensuring the well-being of passengers and crew.
