The military community is mourning the loss of Lance Bombardier Ciara Sullivan, a 24-year-old soldier who tragically died after falling from her horse at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Known as 'Sully' to her friends, Ciara was a shining example of dedication and talent, leaving a lasting impact on those she served with.

Ciara was part of the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, and was an exceptional jockey with an infectious energy. Her commanding officer praised her as an outstanding soldier and a role model to many. The incident occurred on Friday evening, around 7 pm, as Ciara was exiting the arena. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Thames Valley police are treating the death as unexplained but non-suspicious.

Ciara's military career was marked by significant moments, including her deployment at Queen Elizabeth's state funeral in 2022 and the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla in 2023.
