Chunnari Chunnari Remake: Artists Respond to Singer’s Criticism

The highly anticipated remake of the classic song 'Chunnari Chunnari' has sparked a conversation in the music industry. The new version, featured in the upcoming film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', has received a mixed response, with some praising its fresh take and others, including the original singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, expressing criticism.

Akshay Raheja and IP Singh, the talented composers behind the remake, have gracefully responded to Bhattacharya's dissent. In a recent interview, IP Singh acknowledged the singer's veteran status and the value of his perspective, stating, 'He's a legend, and we respect his opinion.'

The composers emphasized that their reimagined version aims to pay homage to the original creators, Anu Malik and Sameer, whose blessings they cherish. They clarified that their intention was not to create a remix but to reimagine the song for a new generation, blending traditional sounds with modern elements.

Despite the legal dispute over rights, the duo remains focused on the positive impact of their work. They believe that the song's popularity, evident from its presence at weddings and parties, speaks for itself. The composers also expressed their desire to eventually earn Bhattacharya's approval, acknowledging his deep connection to the original track.

'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', directed by David Dhawan, is set to release on June 5, 2026, and promises to be a delightful romantic comedy. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, whose performances have already garnered attention, especially Varun's dance moves, which received high praise from Anu Malik.
