Celina Jaitly’s Emotional Plea for Detained Brother

In a recent Instagram post, Celina Jaitly, the renowned Bollywood actress, opened up about her brother's detention in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitly has been held in the Middle East since 2024, with limited communication and access to legal representation.

Jaitly's statement comes after the Delhi High Court dismissed her petition seeking consular access and legal assistance for her brother. She took to social media to clarify her intentions and express her deep concern for her brother's well-being.

The actress revealed that her last interaction with her brother was on August 23, 2024, just before his detention on September 6. She highlighted the challenging circumstances he has endured, including secret detention and limited access to the outside world.

Jaitly emphasized that her brother's decisions during detention must be understood within the context of his limited awareness and potential desire to protect her from additional stress. She respects his efforts to shield her but remains committed to advocating for his rights and well-being.

The petition, she explained, was not about her personal needs but about ensuring her brother's access to communication and legal support. She expressed gratitude to the Government of India for their consular interactions and encouragement for him to accept legal aid.

"My only intention has always been his safety, legal protection, and dignity," Jaitly affirmed. She concluded by stating that she will continue to stand by her brother unconditionally until she can meet and understand his situation more fully.
