Akshay Kumar’s Kerala Adventure: A Special Film Journey

Akshay Kumar has embarked on a cinematic journey in the picturesque state of Kerala, India, for his untitled film directed by the renowned Anees Bazmee. On May 5, 2026, he shared a glimpse of this adventure on social media, marking the completion of the Keralam schedule.

The photo, a vibrant snapshot of the film's shoot, features Akshay alongside his talented co-stars, Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna. The backdrop is a celebration of Kerala's rich cultural heritage, with traditional performers showcasing the classical art forms of Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, and Theyyam.

Akshay, dressed in a stylish grey ensemble, is all smiles as he stands beside Vidya Balan, who exudes casual elegance in an oversized white shirt and denim jeans. Raashii Khanna adds a touch of sophistication in a black dress. The setting, often referred to as 'God's Own Country,' provides a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness.

In his social media post, Akshay expressed his joy, stating, 'Keralam schedule wrapped! Working with amazing people in such a beautiful place was incredible. A big shout-out to Anees Bazmee for his exceptional direction and to my wonderful co-stars, Vidya, Raashii, and Chota Rajpal, for making this experience so special.'

The Kerala leg of the shoot commenced on April 23, with Akshay and Vidya boarding a private plane to reach the scenic locations. The schedule primarily focused on outdoor scenes, utilizing the breathtaking landscapes of Munnar and Marayoor.

This film marks a significant collaboration for Akshay Kumar, reuniting him with Vidya Balan for the fourth time and with director Anees Bazmee after a 15-year gap. The project is rumored to be a comedy inspired by the Telugu film Sankranthiki Vasthunam, although an official confirmation is awaited.

Akshay's recent film, Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, was released just before this shoot, adding to the actor's busy schedule.
