Aahana Kumra Praises Modern Storytelling for its Honesty and Bravery

Actor Aahana Kumra is applauding the shift towards more honest and courageous storytelling in today's content landscape.

Speaking about the change, Kumra said, "I think it's very brave in today's times. And you have to be brave. You can't avoid going deeper anymore. People really want to engage with stories at a deeper level now." She emphasized that audience exposure to global content has changed expectations, making it essential for creators to present authentic narratives.

Kumra also highlighted the importance of approach within the industry, stating, "It's also about being on a level playing field. It doesn't matter if someone is younger or older. You approach it with the mindset that you're here to learn. And if you learn it right, you can do it just as well as anyone else. It's all about perspective."

Beyond acting, Kumra has ventured into production with her banner Working Panda Films, reflecting on the transition, she said, "As an actor, you move within a certain circle. But as a producer, the journey becomes much larger. And I'm sure that journey will be even more exciting."

She was speaking at Content India 2026, where she also underlined the platform's significance, "I have to say, Content India, organized by Dish TV India, is one of the big platforms where everyone comes together, whether it's Netflix, Amazon or Google," she noted.

Kumra's shift into production has given her "a whole new perspective," she concluded, adding that modern storytelling's bravery and honesty are key to engaging audiences.
