German Tourist’s Tragic End: Snake Bite at Egyptian Resort

A family holiday in Egypt turned into a tragic event for a German tourist when he was bitten by a snake during a snake-charming performance. The incident, which occurred in early April, has left authorities in both countries seeking answers.

The 57-year-old man, whose name has been withheld, was enjoying a show at a hotel in Hurghada, a renowned Red Sea resort town. The performance involved two snakes, believed to be cobras, being draped over audience members' necks.

In a shocking twist, one of the snakes crawled into the German tourist's trousers and bit him on the leg. This unexpected encounter led to a rapid deterioration in the man's health, as he exhibited clear symptoms of poisoning.

The victim required immediate resuscitation before being transported to a hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. The incident has cast a shadow over the popular tourist destination, raising questions about safety measures during such performances.

German authorities in the southern state of Bavaria are actively investigating the man's death, with a toxicology report pending. The Unterallgäu district resident was vacationing with two family members when the incident occurred.

Interestingly, Egyptian authorities claim to have no knowledge of the incident, according to Agence France-Press. This discrepancy in information highlights the need for further inquiry to ensure such tragic incidents are prevented in the future.
