Don 3 Dispute: Veteran Producer T P Aggarwal Fights Back
The ongoing Don 3 controversy has taken a new turn as veteran producer T P Aggarwal steps in to address the issue. On June 1st, Aggarwal filed a petition in the Bombay Civil Court, challenging the authority of FWICE and IMPPA to impose a ban or issue non-cooperation directives against film industry members.
Aggarwal, a respected industry veteran, served as the President of IMPPA for 17 years and was elected President of the Film Federation of India (FFI) four times. He currently holds the position of Patron in both FFI and IMPPA, making his voice influential in the industry.
The petition comes as a response to FWICE's recent non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, which has caused a stir in the industry. Aggarwal believes that such actions can have serious implications for the livelihoods and creative freedom of individuals and must be addressed through proper legal channels.
Speaking to NDTV, Aggarwal emphasized the importance of collaboration in the film industry and stated that FWICE's actions are not within their jurisdiction. He referenced a previous court verdict from 2017, where the Competition Commission (CCI) ruled against FWICE's authority to impose such directives.
This legal battle highlights the need for fair and transparent dispute resolution mechanisms in the film industry. As the matter unfolds, it underscores the importance of upholding the rights and freedoms of industry professionals while ensuring a harmonious working environment.
