Peddi: CBFC Censors Words, Middle Finger in Ram Charan’s Pan-India Film

The highly anticipated film 'Peddi' is gearing up for its release on June 4, and the makers have successfully navigated the censor process. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the Pan-India film a U/A 16+ rating, but not without some requested changes.

The CBFC asked for the muting or modification of several words, including 'Loudesh', 'Bokka', 'Lambdi kodaka', and 'Dongamunda kodaka'. Additionally, the word 'Rajasthan' and a reference to a specific community were requested to be removed from the second half of the film.

Fortunately, the film's action and violent scenes remain untouched, with no visual cuts. The only visual modification required was to cover the middle finger gesture with computer-generated (CG) visuals.

'Peddi' stars an impressive ensemble cast, including Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani. Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film promises to be a thrilling entertainer. The film's music is composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, adding to its appeal.

At the trailer launch, Ram Charan shared his experience of shooting the film, stating that they had real pehelwans (wrestlers) on set, which led to an authentic and memorable experience, despite a minor injury.

'Peddi' is set to release in IMAX format, with Jio Studios handling the North India distribution. The film's runtime is 189 minutes, ensuring a captivating cinematic experience for audiences across the country.
