French Boy’s Long Road to Recovery After Tate Modern Attack
The family of a young French boy, who survived a horrific fall from the Tate Modern balcony in 2019, has shared an emotional update on his long road to recovery.
The boy, who was six at the time of the incident, suffered life-changing injuries after being thrown from the 10th-floor balcony by Jonty Bravery. He sustained a brain bleed and multiple broken bones, marking the beginning of a challenging journey.
In a recent statement on a GoFundMe page, the family expressed their sadness as they feel his recovery has taken a step backward. They revealed that their little knight, as they affectionately call him, is still unable to walk and remains hospitalized in a rehabilitation center.
The family's update highlights the boy's eagerness to resume a normal life, even if it means spending half his time in treatment. They shared their joy in finding a school perfectly suited to his needs, where he made new friends who eagerly await his return.
The attacker, Jonty Bravery, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years. He was residing in supported accommodation at the time of the attack but was allowed out unsupervised.
The family's update serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength required in the face of such adversity. It also underscores the importance of continued support for victims and their families during the long and often challenging recovery process.
