Aejaz Gulab: The Action Maestro Behind Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi’

Action director Aejaz Gulab, known for his impressive work in 'Dhurandhar The Revenge', has a fascinating journey in the Indian film industry. Starting as an assistant action director in 1989, he made his mark in 2007 with 'Shootout At Lokhandwala', directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

In an exclusive interview, Gulab shared his excitement about working with Salman Khan in the upcoming war drama 'Maatrubhumi'. He revealed that Lakhia had long dreamed of collaborating with Khan, and 'Maatrubhumbi' made this dream a reality. Gulab expressed his joy, saying, "I was very happy when he told me that 'Salman ke saath apne ko film karni hai'."

Gulab's association with Salman Khan dates back to the early days of his career. He has been a part of several Salman Khan films, including 'Veergati', 'Judwaa', and 'Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega'. Gulab even served as Khan's body double on multiple occasions.

The action director also shared his unique approach to action sequences. He is known for his realistic and intense action scenes, often filmed in single takes. This style has become his signature, with directors seeking him out for such sequences. Gulab's work in 'Ek Villain' and 'The Family Man' showcases his exceptional talent.

Regarding the additional shoot for 'Maatrubhumi', Gulab explained that the makers wanted to add songs and introduction scenes for certain characters. This decision highlights the dedication to creating a comprehensive cinematic experience.

Gulab also looks forward to his work in 'Awarapan 2', where he aims to bring his signature realistic action style. He praised Emraan Hashmi's performance and his ability to excel in action scenes.
