Badshah Apologises for ‘Tateeree’ Controversy, Removes Song from All Platforms

Rapper Badshah has issued a public apology for the controversy surrounding his recently released track 'Tateeree'. The song has been at the centre of a storm, with several women's organisations objecting to its lyrics, alleging that they were offensive and disrespectful to women.

In a video posted on Instagram, Badshah clarified his intentions behind the lyrics and expressed regret for the offence caused. He stated that he had no intention of saying anything inappropriate about any child or woman from Haryana, his home state. Badshah further explained that the lines in the song were written in line with the competitive nature of hip-hop music, where lyrics are often aimed at putting down competitors.

Badshah's apology and decision to remove the song from digital platforms appear to be an attempt to address the concerns raised by various groups and de-escalate the situation. An FIR has been registered at the Cyber Police Station in Sector-20, Panchkula, under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as well as Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Badshah's apology may provide some relief to his fans and critics alike. However, the incident highlights the importance of being mindful of the impact of one's words and actions on others.
